Want to understand my work ? perhaps the following will help.
I like to use humor in my designs, whimsy, and gentle fantasy.
Stylistically im influenced by the animation arts and even platform games in some of my imagery.
Plus I like to keep things simple, say just what is necessary and no more. In this way its a little like haiku poetry, and I like ideas that are a little off-beat and make me smile.
I like it when my wirk tells a story and i like characters and personality coming through.
And i like to surprise even myself. I especially like it when i'm working, and an unexpected idea or arrangement occurs, that works ! so it's the discovery that i like.

I hope people who like my art, enjoy having  it around and living with it as much as i enjoy creating it.

 " two "  is one of a series of prints, that began when i  scanned just one broken leaf , to see what i could do with it, in the way of making images. The original leaf is seen above, in the tail of the bird. It was a lot of fun to do this series. I like story and humor in my work. The two above, appear to have some sort of relationship, and are startled by our appearance.

eventually the will be 12 prints, and at that point a  broken leaf - calendar for 2010  will become available. That time should not be too far away. I have far more ideas than the twelve I need for the calendar, but it will take time to decide and tweak the ones i want to use. The art process sometimes flows like crazy, and at other times it needs time to ferment,

scooter

this is " scooter ". He's alot of fun. i can see him scooting about on that single wheel of his making quite a racket. My grandson just got a scooter which he is very excited about. It's funny how life and what's happening around us finds its way into our art, so our art is a reflection of our lives. It's funny, but it's also great the way that happens, so there's a crossover between art and life. It's always been like that.
